First time Shibari

We – my boyfriend and I – tried Shibari the first time a few weeks ago. It was a really exceptional experience for me. I was the one who was tied up. The first bondage was quite fun, but a bit strange. We had a safety lock built in, just in case. Turned out it was a fantastic idea, cause the second bondage wasn’t that good. My heart began to race, and I almost fainted. I had to sit down.

We have a really good and trustworthy connection with my boyfriend, so I didn’t know what the problem was. So I did my research. The internet wrote that this situation can happen if the person has some trauma. There may be other reasons, but this fits me best. It is better now that I know the reason. I was really scared when I felt that way, and had to sit down. When someone has their first Shibari session, they have to be super careful because of things like what I just wrote.

I had some trauma in my life, which could have caused what I experienced. BDSM can also be used for healing. I follow someone on YouTube who speaks about shadow work – connected to BDSM. I find it fascinating how our subconscious influences our lives and shapes our experiences. It is important that your role in BDSM is changing, just like yourself. So if you start as a sub, you don’t have to be that for the rest of your life. When I was new to BDSM, I was absolutely a submissive person in sessions. As I got more into it, I changed. Now I am more like a brat. And I really enjoy being a brat. But it is also not permanent.

All in all, if you are planning to try Shibari, I recommend that you be super careful. Let me know how your session went. I am curious about your experiences.
